OECD Feasibility Study for the International Assessment of Higher Education Learning Outcomes PDF Print E-mail

The OECD Assessment of Higher Education Leaning Outcomes (AHELO) is a ground-breaking initiative to assess learning outcomes on an international scale by creating measures that would be valid for all cultures and languages. Between ten and thirty-thousand higher education students in over ten different counties will take part in a feasility study to determine the bounds of this ambitions project, with an eye to the possible creation of a full-scale AHELO upon its completion.

Chief Delegates Meeting - November 2009 PDF Print E-mail

JAMT graciously extended an invitation for IFBLS to hold the Council Meeting in Japan and we were pleased to combine the Council meetings with the Annual Chief Delegates meeting which took place November 20th - 22nd, 2009. There was representation from Canada, Croatia, India (AIIMT), Japan, Kenya, Malaysia, Norway, Singapore, Sweden, Taiwan (TAMT & TSML) and the United States. We would like to thank the Chief Delegates who attended for their hard work.

WHO Patient Safety Newsletter - No. 1 September 2009 PDF Print E-mail

This month sees the publication of the first edition of the revamped WHO Patient Safety newsletter which we hope will be an informative and useful resource. This quarterly publication will feature a guest editorial, a regular column from our Chair, Sir Liam Donaldson, and news items about patient safety.

WHO Global Consultation in Geneva 25-26th of June 2009 PDF Print E-mail

Report from Global Consultation:  The Contribution of Health Professions to Primary Health Care and the Global Health Agenda

Approximately 40 NGO’s met in Geneva together with representatives for WHO to discuss the future of primary health care in a global and long term perspective.

This meeting was decided on at the 124th Executive Board of WHO held in January 2009.

The purpose of the meeting is to provide a forum for a broad spectrum of health professions to network, discuss global health challenges and identify synergies to foster collaborative efforts, work across professional boundaries and conventions to support a primary healthcare approach to reducing health inequities and improving the health of populations.
